I have tirelessly tried to find these hallmarks. Spoon has been in my family forever but little is known. My family tree goes back to the original founding fathers of the U.S.A. but how old or if this is American or ??? made is not known. Any help will be great!
Thanks a lot!!!!

Your spoon was made by John Sherwood and Sons of Birmingham England and is silver plated rather than solid silver.

As far as dates go, there are no date stamps for silver plated items but yours has a crown as part of the makers mark. The practice of stamping silver plated items with real assay marks such as the crown was banned in England in 1896 meaning your spoon pre dates this. The earliest record I can find on John Sherwood & Sons is 1858 so I would place the spoon between these dates.

Cheers,
Steve
